Our Varsity Banquet is set for Thursday, May 28th, here are the general details and a link to the RSVP form.

Varsity Banquet

When:  Thursday, May 28th, 2015

Where:  The Clubhouse at Anaheim Hills Country Club

Time:   6:00-10:00 PM

Cost:  $10 per Varsity/Senior athlete

$25 for Parents, Family Members & Guests

Featuring: An All-American BBQ, Dessert & Silent Auction!

(Vegetarian entrée available upon request with RSVP only)

Coaches’ Gifts: If you would like to contribute to appreciation gifts for all of our coaches, please send your donation with banquet fees and RSVP form. Special recognition is planned for our two retiring coaches, Al Rodriguez (Hurdles) and Dave Miller (Distance).

Auction Items & Donations: This event is our only large fundraiser. If you would please consider donating auction items, e.g., Sporting Event Tickets, Driving School Discounts, Gift Cards to Restaurants, Theaters, Shopping Venues, or even a monetary donation, then please brings these to the next board meeting, Monday, May 11th at 7 pm in Coach Gomez classroom 325, or contact a board member (e-mails on the web-site.)  All donations are due no later than Monday, May 11th.

Upcoming Rubio’s Fundraiser, Wednesday April 1st, 2015

Hello Parents,

Thank you for making our first Rubio’s fundraiser of the season a success; with your help we were able to increase donations by 20% over last season’s top earning Rubio’s fundraiser. The Booster Club appreciates all of the assistance we receive from the parents of our athletes and looks forward to working together as we make this the best Track and Field season in YLHS’s young history.

With that said, we get another chance this season to work with Rubio’s and raise funds for our team, so let’s see if we can raise the bar one more time. With your help and dedication every goal is achievable.

Tonight’s Booster Meeting

At our regularly scheduled meeting tonight at 7 pm in Coach Gomez’s classroom (325), we will discuss a parent mixer as our large fundraiser.  Without support from parents, this event cannot happen.   Please attend so you can participate in the planning and decision making process with us.  Parents do not need to attend every meeting or stay for the whole meeting if their schedule does not permit it but we hope to see you.

Both the President and the Treasurer have senior athletes and will be wrapping up their tenure in June.  Along with these two positions, the following are open:  Vice President  and VP – Ways & Means.  Please consider serving in one of these areas.

Also, this is your last chance to purchase tickets for Casino Night which is THIS Friday.  You can purchase them at tonight’s meeting or send your $25/ticket with your athlete to practice Tuesday or Wednesday.

YLHS FROSH/SOPH INVITATIONAL CANCELLED

We regret that we must cancel the Frosh/Soph Invitational scheduled for this Saturday. We did not get enough teams registered by the deadline. Our goal from the start was to create a quality meet with competition that would bring out the best of each young competitor, regardless of ability. Without a reasonable number of schools taking part, this goal was not attainable and the integrity of our meet was jeopardized.

We continue to believe in this meet concept and will reevaluate what we must do to launch this invitational successfully. We know that our date was in direction competition with number of other more established meets, and we certainly will try to avoid that next year.

Thank you to all who volunteered to help with this meet. We appreciate your support.

Casino Night and Silent Auction!

Mark your calendars – Friday, March 28 is our annual Casino Night.  This is our largest fundraiser of the year!

Here’s how YOU can help your athlete and our Track and Field Booster Club make this a success:

Donate Silent Auction Items: Each athlete needs to donate one of the following: raffle basket items worth $25.00 or more, gifts worth $25.00 or more, a $25.00 gift card, $25.00 check or cash and we’ll do the shopping for you .  You may send your auction item with your athlete to track and field practice or email Trisha Mahony  to arrange pick up of your item.

Purchase Casino Night Tickets:  Each athlete is asked to sell a minimum of 2 tickets.  Cost is $25.00 each.  This includes taco dinner, $100.00 in “fun” money for the gaming tables, and raffle tickets.

Volunteer:  We need your help on Casino Night in these areas:  preparing for the event, set up, tear down, check in, bartending, etc.  Please consider volunteering an hour or two of your time.

Auction items and Casino Night ticket monies are due by March 15.  Please see the Casino Night Information flyer for more details.
